This is a brand new spin on the bicycle as we know it. In fact, there isn't even a name for what it is. We're calling it a stepper, for what will be obvious reasons. At the heart of this ingenious machine is it's gearing system. Like most bicycles it operates by sprockets and a chain, but instead of pedals and a crank mechanism you'll find a frame mounted lever style crank that has a skateboard-like platform mounted on top of it. Beneath is a standard sprocket with a rotating pin wheel that fits into a track on the underside of the aforementioned frame mounted lever.
What does this all mean?
What it means is that instead of pedalling, you simply step up and down, and with each step the bike moves forward. Simply step and go... it's that easy... and you'll soon find out it's a BLAST to ride. It's a whole new way to get around.
So whatever you choose to call this new invention, we know you'll all call it one thing... fun.
Keep a look out for these on tv and in magazines, because the Stepper will be here soon.
